• Lauren Grant (co-mentored by Julie Bugg and Todd Braver)

    Dr. Grant received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research focuses on the processes underlying cognitive control, which allows one to – among other things – resist temptation, minimize distraction, and adapt to recent events. To investigate such control processes, she employs a mixture of behavioral and patient-oriented techniques.

    Dr. Growney received her B.S. in psychology and music from University of Mary Washington and her Ph.D. in psychology with an emphasis on lifespan development from North Carolina State University. She is currently interested in emotion regulation, motivational influences on cognitive engagement, and health-related decision-making in older adulthood.
